May 2009 dance classes in Austin

Sundays, May 3rd - May 24th (four weeks)

1-3 pm (2 hr):Intermediate Two Step
3-5 pm (2 hr):West Coast Swing, Level 4
5-6 pm (1 hr):Open Dance Practice, free to current, former and prospective students, and their guests!
6-7 pm (1 hr):Team Dance Practice: Currently we are working 4 routines (East Coast Swing, West Coast Swing, Two Step, Cha-Cha) as a way to take our dancing to a higher level.

Mondays, April 27th - May 18th (four weeks)

7-9 pm (2 hr):Two Step, Level 9. This will be the last month of Monday night dance classes taught by Valerie, at least for the next 3 months, because of her working a full-time (Monday-Friday) job in San Antonio during the summer. Consequently, this month will be "students' choice" — if there is a move or a pattern you would like to learn, or re-visit, in any dance, come on by and we will tackle it! Last month we worked on some Cha-Cha and West Coast moves as well as Two Step and Triple Two.

May 2009 workshops in Austin

Saturday, May 9th:

5-7pm: Advanced Cha-Cha — admission requires instructor approval. We will review Level 3 patterns.
7-9pm: Beginning Ballroom Waltz and Foxtrot — ideal for those June weddings you will be attending!

May 2009 special events

Saturday, May 9th, is also the Anniversary Dance for the Heart of Texas Whip Club, at Red River Church on 45th Street. Their party starts at 7:30pm, cover charge $15. They will play a fair amount of Cha-Cha as well as West Coast Swing / Whip music, so advanced dancers might want to take our Cha-Cha review workshop first, then head over to the Whip Club Party (pot luck dinner and refreshments).

The schedule for June 2009 classes should be posted to this site by mid May.
