Austin class schedule
To register for classes, you may call us at 512-302-4324, or use our registration form.
You can read about all the different kinds of dance lessons we offer, or browse answers to frequently asked questions for more information. If you still have questions, feel free to call us anytime, or contact us by e-mail.
Rates and discounts
| 1-week, 2-hour classes: | $15/person | ($25/couple) |
| 3-week, 2-hour classes: | $30/person | ($50/couple) |
| 4-week, 2-hour classes: | $40/person | ($70/couple) |
The couples discount may be applied to any two dancers who help balance the class by registering and dancing together. Unless specfically mentioned, you do not need to have a partner when you sign up for a class. We often change partners in class.
Most group classes meet for two hours, one night each week, for four weeks. Payment by cash or check is not due until the first night of class.
One-day workshops are usually held Saturday evenings from 5 to 7pm, or 7 to 9pm.
Private lessons cost $60/hour and must be scheduled to take place before 7pm Monday or Tuesday.
December 2008 dance classes in Austin
Sundays, November 23 - December 14 (four weeks)
| 1-3 pm (2 hr): | Western Waltz, Level 2 |
| 3-5 pm (2 hr): | West Coast Swing, Level 10 |
| 5-6 pm (1 hr): | Open Dance Practice free to current, former and prospective students, and their guests! |
| 6-7 pm (1 hr): | Team Dance Practice: Join the fun! Learn our 3 current routines (East Coast Swing, West Coast Swing, Two Step) and participate in the creation of new ones (Cha-Cha, Tango, Triple Two Step) as a way to take your dancing to a higher level. No one is required to perform, but opportunities are there for those interested in doing so. |
Mondays, November 24 - December 15 (four weeks)
| 7-9 pm (2 hr): | Advanced Two Step. Join us as we continue to develop our Two Step dance skills. Instructor's permission is required to join this class! |
December 2008 workshops in Austin
Workshops are taught on Saturday, December 20, from 5-7 pm and 7-9 pm. The cost for each class is $25/couple, $15/single. Partners are not required.

You must register in advance for either workshop, so that we can contact you in the event of any cancellation or change in schedule.
December 2008 special events
The Whip Club Christmas Party is planned for Saturday, December 6, from 7:00 to 11:30 pm at the Red River Church, 4425 Red River St. The music favors West Coast Swing with occasional Cha Cha, Nightclub, or other C&W selections for variety. All are invited to bring a snack, side dish, or dessert for the Potluck Buffet.
The studio is closed for the holidays on December 18, and reopens for class at 1:00 pm on Sunday, January 4, 2009.
The studio remains open for dance practice on the holiday Sundays, December 21 and December 28.
The schedule for January - February 2009 classes should be posted to this site by mid December.
