Classes in San Antonio

Currently the classes being taught in San Antonio are coordinated through the Adult Community Education program run by North East ISD, which sets their own rates, dependent on the number of weeks per session. NEISD prefers that their dance classes be offered to couples only. Singles may contact Valerie directly by email for assistance in finding a partner.

4 week sessions costs $60/couple;
5-week sessions costs $75/couple;
6-week sessions costs $90/couple;
7-week sessions costs $105/couple;
8-week sessions costs $120/couple.

The dance classes are held in Room 100 of the NEISD Community Education Building at 8750 Tesoro, near Loop 410 North, between Broadway and Nacogdoches. Classes meet from 6:30 - 8:00pm on the specific weeknight listed below.

Beginning level classes are open to everyone -- no prior dance experience is required or expected. We will teach you everything you need to know about the rhythm and character of the particular dance, the music and the footwork, and then some interesting patterns!

All Intermediate level classes require that you have taken Valerie's Beginning level class first. Every instructor has their own system of teaching, so even if you already have some basic dance knowledge, you should start again at the beginning to become familiar with the methods and terminology of each new teacher. Besides, it never hurts to review the basics!

SPRING 2012 - MONDAYS only

First Session: January 30 - March 5th (5 weeks, because no class on PResidents' Day February 20th): Beginning Line Dancing
Second Session: March 19 - April 16 (5 weeks): Beginning East Coast Swing / Jitterbug
Third Session: April 23 - May 21 (5 weeks): Beginning Two Step

Private lessons in San Antonio cost $50/hour (may be split among 1-5 people) and can be arranged to fit our busy schedules, by contacting Valerie (see "contact us").
