Our story —
Our history began in 1992
Valerie Ryan began teaching social dance classes in September of 1992 at the Hyde Park United Methodist Church in central Austin, followed by classes at Bethany United Methodist Church (near Cedar Park) and St Matthew's Episcopal Church in west Austin. In 1995 the classes were consolidated into a central studio, QuickSilver Dance Center, located off Research Boulevard at Burnet Road in north-central Austin. Here, private lessons could be offered, and special instructors were invited, which lead to students entering and winning C&W dance competitions, and the creation of a Performance Team.
When family obligations forced a relocation to San Antonio in 2009, the Dance Center in Austin was closed, but Valerie began teaching in Wimberley, San Marcos, Kyle, San Antonio and Bulverde. Since 2023, classes have been almost exclusively in New Braunfels.
